It’s impossible not to see the impact our following guest has had in Canada and across the world. His ‘Paramount‘ franchise went from being a household name, to a global franchise. However, just like any great immigration story, Mohamad Fakih has opened up on his resilience in making a new life in Canada. We sat down with Mohamad to discuss philanthropy, family and how we can come out stronger through this COVID-19 pandemic.
To many, the world seems like a movie right now. In Canada, things are changing by the day with the corona virus outbreak. Borders are being closed with some Canadians and foreigners being trapped outside of the country. We discuss this outbreak and recent policies with Toronto-based epidemiologist, Maria Qadri, and Calgary-based immigration and refugee policy research, Robert Falconer.
Meet The Host
If there’s one thing my parents taught me, it’s that you can do whatever you put your mind to – and that’s especially true in this wonderful country of Canada. My parents immigrated to Canada from Pakistan in the 80s. I was born and raised in Toronto. In high school, I always knew I wanted to help people and our law classes ignited that spark. Upon graduation, I immediately embarked in the legal field and obtained my paralegal and immigration consulting education. Since then, I’ve been helping individuals immigrate to our wonderful country so they too can have all the opportunities to pursue their own #CanadianDream.
Learning is my hobby. Naturally, I’ll attempt to pick up and learn anything that interests me. I love mixed martial arts and have been training for 8+ years. I enjoy science and anything space related. I took up horseback riding; flew a few hours towards my private pilot’s license, obtained a powerboating license; am struggling to play the guitar and keyboard; fire a few rounds at the shooting range from time to time; and ride my motorcycle whenever Canada pleases us with warm weather.
I’m grateful to share my time with you all and look forward to interacting with our guests and listeners!
